820am: Yep, I'll get John...
820am-9am: Listening to the sport talk radio about how awful the Jays are... John isn't dealing so well with this. He needs to make golf his new favourite sport.
9am: Breakfast... the usual.
... I actually forget what I did this morning aside from finishing up a feature I had to write for school, I actually keep forgetting I'm still a grad student.
11am: Watched the Charl spelling bee feature a few times, still didn't export it (so glad this crashed yesterday)
12pm: Went to 18 to watch David Hearn finish up his round, at this point he was the low Canuck on course.
1230pm: Lunch with the hooligan's, I'm really enjoying the media centre guys... Thankfully most people in the media centre have a soft spot for the East Coaster's.
1pm: Still trying to figure out this Charl video, just about to export it when the Master's champ walks into the media centre. Score!
120pm: Sitting in on his press conference, I honestly miss South Africa when I hear any of them talk, takes me right back to caddying on the Sunshine Tour.
125pm: Had a great little chat with Charl's agent about what we were doing and my time in South Africa, he tells Charl to do whatever we say... 'You want me to what?' says Charl.... 'Spell my name like a spelling bee haha okay' What a good sport!
130pm: John and I are ecstatic because Charl was such a champ, spelt his name right and made the piece so much better.
145pm: Edits, high fives and laughs, please watch the finished product below... :)
230pm: Watched John finish editing the Walk with the Pro's feature, that'll be around sometime tomorrow! It's a nice piece, Kuchar is the man.
3pm: Let's watch some golf, out to follow MacKenzie Hughes, team Canada player. Saw him make a tweet, also saw a sweet eagle in his group.
4pm: Quick trip to the range to film Remi interviewing Julien Trudeau in french about his caddie gig with Graham DeLaet and his golfing career... fantastic part about that was I understood all the french! Woo! Still got it. Bilingual can still go on my resume.
5pm: Let's go catch some Hadwin action, he's -4 heading into the final stretch.... watch him drop a sweet birdie on the tough 16th a par 3. Upset I can't fist pump... this media thing is really hard. I just wanna clap!
6pm: Holy, rain!!! Delaaaay. I'm pretty positive the media tent is going to collapse at this point, can barely even hear Hadwin's answers in the press centre.
630pm to whenever... snacks, a cold molson 67, few laughs, some final edits... and well now I'm back home at 9.
Round 2 tomorrow! Stay tuned...
What I learned today: Sometimes things go bad so really good things happen (aka Charl in the media centre and us losing all our edit last night).... When it's forecast to rain always bring your rain gear so you don't have to walk all the way back to your car to get it.... Hadwin's got his swagga back and all of us couldn't be happier....That ice cream popsicle station really gets some serious use especially for the PGATour fella's! haha
Entertaining stuff Morgs!! I'll make sure to answer all your questions in the media center next week at the Stanhope Open. ;)
